When a distressed samaritan brought what he believed to be a dead cat to the Guernsey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA), the bedraggled object turned out to be a dog - of the stuffed animal variety.*
While shelter manager Steve Byrne was relieved to discover that the tragedy was considerably less severe, the pup did sustain a mi**r **se injury.
After checking the supposed deceased cat for a microchip or some form of identification, Byrne was delighted to be able to inform the concerned individual of the happy mistake.
