Speaking at a news conference, Evacuee Trust Property Board Assistant Administrator, Asif Khan, said the government had ** intention to bar mi**rities from performing their religious obligations. He refuted reports that land grabbers were trying to occupy the properties belonging to Kashmiris and Hindus and Sikhs at Asamai Gate in Ander Shehar. The official said that since the inception of country, around 12 to 13 Kashmiri families, including mi**rities had been residing in the colony, and government had taken steps to ensure protection of religious places of mi**rity. Asif Khan said the property included five worship places of Hindus and Sikhs and several residential quarters. He said the reports about forcing people to vacate their residences without any prior **tice were wrong. Flanked by Muhammad Muazzam Butt advocate, Neighbourhood Council nazim Sher Farzand, President of Sarafa Bazaar, Aurangzeb, the official said government was taking measures for protection of religious places of the **n-Muslims. Muazzam Butt also dismissed reports that the residents of Kashmir Colony were being forced to vacate their houses and plans were afoot to construct a commercial plaza over there.
