KARACHI: Sindh Assembly deputy speaker Shehla Raza on Saturday said that she was unaware of the showbiz celebrities’ protest, while asking “who is Fakhr-e-Alam?” When she was told about Fakhr-e-Alam being a re**wned singer, she commented, “the maternal grandson of ‘General Rani.’
Talking to the media, PPP leader Shehla Raza said she had **t received any information about the protest held by showbiz celebrities, while she also refused to recognise Fakhr-e-Alam (Sindh Censor Board chairman) who is leading the protest.
Earlier, actors and re**wned personalities from showbiz expressed extreme concerns regarding their security after re**wned Qawwal Amjad Sabri’s assassination. Meera, Zeba Bakhtiar, Maria Wasti, Faisal Qureshi, Fakhr-e-Alam and a large number of other artistes visited the Defence Police Station and demanded security. More than 60 artistes signed a petition and submitted it to police officials. Fakhr-e-Alam revealed that the artistes had been receiving threats and the leaders should also consider taking initiatives regarding citizens’ protection. The artistes were of the view that they should be dismissed from the Censor Board, if the Sindh government was facing problems.
