Elderly people to get pension through ATM card from August 1

ISLAMABAD: Elderly people will be relieved soon as they have introduced ATM card to get the Employees Old Age Benefits Institution(EOBI) pension without standing in queue.

The system would get started from August 1 at all the branches of bankAlfalah reported a private news channel.

According to sources the registered male pensioners for EOBI are3 89 000 while the total number of females has been recorded as 1 84 000. However only 8000 people have got registered under scheme so far.

The authorities have said that the retired people have to get theirmoney of June from the old process while they would use the new ATM cardsystem from July.

Efforts were also being made for the computerization of EOBI record for enhancing its performance.
