PESHAWAR: Most areas in the provincial capital faced loadshedding despite Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s directive **t to carry out the power cuts during Sehr and Iftar. The residents in Gulberg and other areas blasted Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) officials for violating the prime minister’s directive. They also accused the Pesco officials of sending inflated bills to the consumers.
Meanwhile, Chief Executive Pesco Anwarul Haq Yousafzai chaired a meeting at the Wapda House Peshawar to review the electricity supply arrangements in Ramazan. He issued directive to resolve the public complaints, especially in Sehr and Iftar. The CEO warned officials of strict action of carrying out unscheduled loadshedding. He directed the staff that complaints received in Sehr and Iftar should be given priority. The Pesco chief said the officials who will show excellent performance during Ramazan with minimum breakdowns in their areas will be awarded certificates and prizes. He expressed anger over the overbilling complaints and directed Pesco field staff to immediately stop this practice.
