VEHARI: A nine-year-old child was killed and 25 others were injured during a firing by a group to occupy agriculture land at Chak 186/EB on Tuesday night.
Reportedly, Abdul Ghaffar was present in his four acre agri land to irrigate it when Nawab along with his accomplices came there and allegedly attacked him. To it, he raised hue and cry. In the meantime, his family members reached there to rescue him but the attackers allegedly opened fire. As a result, nine-year-old Muhammad Kashif was killed on the spot while 25 others, including Abdul Shakoor, Muhammad Hafeez, Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Aslam, Ali Raza, Muhammad Ilyas, **or Muhammad, Naseer Ahmad, Basheer Ahmad, Muhammad Amjad, Abdul Ghafoor, Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Amin, Irfan, Rajab, Kashif, Basheeran, Amina, Aasia, Sarwar, Kausar and Pathani Bibi, were injured. The injured people were shifted to the DHQ Hospital. Police have registered a case and started investigation.
Meanwhile, talking to newsmen after meeting the injured people at the hospital, District Police ******r Ghazi Muhammad Salahuddin said that he had constituted a special team, which was conducting raids in south Punjab to arrest the accused. He said that the accused would soon be arrested. The DPO said that the accused wanted to occupy the land of Abdul Ghaffar. He said that the accused would be dealt with iron hand and their case would be trialed in an anti-terrorism court.
