PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Tuesday released Rs4.4 million to each of the two women polio workers who were killed last year during the anti-polio campaign in Mansehra district.
According to a **tification issued by the Finance Department, a total of Rs8.800 million had been released to compensate the families of Lady Health workers Sitara Gul daughter of Mian Gul and Kaneez Nargis daughter of Mian Gul to ack**wledge their services.
The **tification said that Rs3.3 million would be released as cash compensation while a plot of land worth Rs1.1 million would be given to their families.It may be recalled that Sitara Gul and Kaneez Nargis and a policeman Muhammad Mushtaq were gunned down on the second day of the anti-polio campaign in Mansehra in March, 2015.
