Russia begins Syria pullout after Putin says 'objectives achieved'

The first Russian planes flew out of Syria on Tuesday, at the start of a surprise withdrawal that diplomats hope will boost a new round of UN-backed peace talks. However, Kremlin said Russia would continue to use advanced air defence systems to protect its remaining contingent in Syria.
