Special Envoy for Syria, Staffan de Mistura, called for
International Action to be taken to stop the Islamic State?s siege on the Syrian-Kurdish town of Kobane. Speaking on October 8 in Geneva, Mistura said that while the Kurds have been courageous in their defense of the city, they are facing an unfair fight against IS militants armed with ?tanks and mortars.?
