Saudis consume three
times more electricity than the
world average, said Osama Fahd Al-Bunyan, chief operating ******r of the Zamil Industrial Investment Company. "The per capita electricity
consumption of Saudis is increasing year after year," he added. He said Saudi Arabia required investments worth SR500 billion to meet growing electricity requirements in the next 10 years. Electricity
consumption grew by nine percent in 2012 compared with the previous year, Al-Bunyan said, adding that **n-insulated buildings were eating away Saudi electricity.
