ISLAMABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) here on Monday recorded the statement of three-member team of London
police led by its Chief Detective Officer Stuart Green in a case pertaining to the
murder of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader
Imran Farooq.ATC-II judge, Shahrukh Arjumand resumed the hearing whereas the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) Special Prosecutor Khawaja Imtiaz told the court prosecution witnesses’ team from London
police which conducted the investigation into the matter were present in the court for testimony.The British
police team handed over key evidence in the case to the court which included
murder weapons, a brick and two knives along with the CCTV footage of the incident. During the proceedings, the witnesses also submitted a crime scene diagram and a map along with the fingerprints report from the crime scene. They also informed the court about the details of the main suspect Mohsin Ali’s admission to the United Kingdom as well as submitted documents regarding his admissions and college. Arguments as well as cross examination was completed over such witnesses statement. The court summoned prosecution witnesses on the next date of hearing and adjourned the case till December 5.Imran
Farooq was murdered outside his residence in London on September 16, 2010. It is worth mentioning the Islamabad High Court had directed the ATC for the conclusion of the trial of the case within two months after receiving evidence from the United Kingdom.
