Barr has dominated the news cycle this week after tweeting a racist tirade early Tuesday morning, which quickly led ABC to
cancel the reboot of her popular sitcom,
Roseanne. Now,
Barr has revealed that she "begged" Disney/ABC Television Group President Ben Sherwood not to
cancel the show.
"I begged them not to
cancel the show. I told them I was willing to do anything & asked 4 help in making things right,"
Barr tweeted Thursday. After her
show was canceled, she said she tweeted racist remarks about Valerie Jarrett, a top adviser for former President Barack Obama when he was in the White House, while on Ambien.*
