Officially Unveils Flagship G3 Smartphone



LG unveiled its latest
Flagship smartphone, the LG G3, on Tuesday at an event in London.
The 5.5-inch G3 is the first mainstream
Smartphone with a Quad HD display, which has a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 for a pixel density of 538 ppi. Although it's generally accepted the human eye can't discern improvements in pixel density above 300 ppi on a smartphone, LG executives at the event insisted that they can.

More pixels means more power consumption, so LG designed the G3 to optimize the life of the 3,000 millamp-hour (mAh) battery. One way they do this is through adaptive frame rates, so the display doesn't drain excess energy when, say, displaying a still image.
