Alphabet, Google's parent company, has a new cybersecurity business born
from its X department known as the "moonshot factory."
Chronicle, a new project created to help businesses fight cybercrime, publicly
launched Wednesday.*
The company's CEO Stephen Gillett announced the new project in a
blog post explaining exactly what the new platform is and what it does.*
For now, it sounds like Chronicle will attempt to make things harder for hackers and help companies with cybersecurity issues. The project started back in 2016 as a
moonshot idea, and it's now being spun off into its own company.
