A 25-year-old man was
shot dead by the brother of a BJP candidate with his licensed revolver
ahead of the urban
local body elections. Sagar Sharma, who was earlier working as a jeweller in Dankaur was
shot at his chest outside the BJP office in the area. Sagar was walking to home with his elder brother when the main accused Deepak Varma and his brother Manoj called him to the BJP office. The duo was carrying revolvers and Deepak
shot Sagar. Both the accused and the deceased were known to each other and had a personal enmity over the jewellery business related matter. As Deepak was campaigning for BJP, he took offence that Sagar had decided to give support to BSP candidate, which police later confirmed that Sagar was supporting BJP.
