Markle did not grow up as a royal, according to genealogical information gathered by The Mail on Sunday,
Markle has a connection to the
Prince on her father's side. Her dad, Thomas
Markle is an Emmy Award-winning cinematographer. The Mail reports that they're "related through a 15th Century English ancestor of the Queen Mother, the High Sheriff of County Durham Ralph Bowes.
