Virtual
Reality Dissection System Helps Study Anatomy, Spare a
Cadaver (VIDEO)
To help students at University of Michigan to literally immerse themselves in the
Study of
Anatomy, a new
Virtual Reality application has been developed based on a real cadaver. The app works inside the popular
CAVE virtual environment that turns a whole room into a 3D screen within which the user’s head and handheld joystick are continuously tracked. This allows the joystick to be used as a mighty scalpel while naturally looking around the
Cadaver and getting close to the relevant details.
