Fossils
found in an underwater cave in 2009 near Mexico have been confirmed to belong to ancient species of
giant sloth. The new species of sloth, called Xibalbaonyx Oviceps, likely died in the cave when sea level was lower and it was dry. Researchers say Xibalbaonyx was at least 500 pounds. This new find shows
