WheelAir
Helps Keep Wheelchair Usersâ??
Back Cool and Comfy

Being in a
Wheelchair for long periods at a time can be difficult on the body in a number of ways. One issue, particularly common in the summer, is the
Back **t receiving e**ugh ventilation. This prevents cooling of the back, creates the buildup of sweat, and discomfort. A new device is **w on KickStarter looking for crowdfunding that may be a cheap and easy solution to keeping the
Back Cool and comfortable.
The
WheelAir is a battery powered
Back pad that works with just about any common
Wheelchair to blow air onto the back, reducing moisture on the skin, and hopefully improving overall comfort. It slips over the
Back rest of a
Wheelchair and has a fan that clicks on on the bottom. The fan has four speed settings and is expected to be able to operate for a whole day on a single charge. It sucks air in from air vents on both sides of the device and pushes it onto the
Back of the person using it. The battery can be recharged via a USB plug and the pad can be washed in the washing machine while the battery is charging.
