5,319 policemen to discharge Muharram security duty

MUZAFFARGARH: District Police ******r Awais Ahmad Malik has directed the SDPOs and SHOs to implement the Muharram security plan in letter and spirit.
Talking to newsmen here on Tuesday, he said that 5,319 policemen, including 10 platoons of Punjab Constabulary, five teams of Elite Forces, seven SDPOs, 90 inspectors, 270 SIs, 570 ASIs, 119 head constables and 1,404 constables, would perform Muharram security duties. He said that an emergency control room would work round-the-clock in the DPO ******. The DPO maintained that ** one would be allowed to disrupt peace. He said that a comprehensive strategy had been chalked out to ensure peace in Muharram. He said that smooth traffic flow would be ensured in and around the
City as well as highways through a comprehensive planning during Muharram. He asked the Ulema to play their role to promote religious harmony, tolerance and brotherhood in the society.
