KARACHI: Karachi Corps Commander General Naveed Mukhtar said on Tuesday that the country was faced with both internal enemies of the state as well as external.
Addressing the attendees of a Defence Day event, General
Naveed Mukhtar paid tribute to those who had laid down their lives for
Pakistan and said that it was necessary to include those who had been injured for the sake of Pakistan, in the mainstream.
"For those who laid down their lives for Pakistan, the country is in your debt and can never repay that debt," he said.
He said that relatives of the martyrs of
Pakistan were the pride of the country and stated that sacrifices rendered would **t go in vain. General
Naveed Mukhtar said that along with the forces, citizens of
Pakistan also deserved credit for giving sacrifices.

Mukhtar said that bringing the relatives of the martyrs into the mainstream as well as the Ghazis should be the top priority. He further said that even though the journey was difficult yet
Pakistan was on its way to the destination. The event was attended by Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, COAS General Raheel Sharif and Major Shabbir Sharifs sister Khalida.

Naveed Mukhtar placed a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered fateha for the martyrs.
