BEVERLY HILLS, California — The first gay
superhero is
coming to The CW.*
At its Television Critics Association presentation Thursday, The CW said it's debuting
Freedom Fighters: The Ray on its digital platform Seed.
The new animated ******, which will arrive in 2017, follows lesser k**wn super hero Ray Terrill. The ****** is inspired by DC’s
Multiversity ****** by writer Grant Morrison.
It is produced by Berlanti Productions, in association with Blue Ribbon Content. *Greg Berlanti (
Supergirl, The Flash and
Arrow) and Marc Guggenheim (
Arrow and
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow) serve as executive producers.
