Watch as
auroras dance with the
International Space Station



A new video shot by an astronaut circling the world from within the
International Space Station shows the
Space laboratory speeding through green curtains of
auroras dancing above Earth.
NASA astronaut Jeff Williams took the timelapse video while staring out one of the
Space Station's window.

Astronauts and cosmonauts are sometimes treated to these light shows in orbit when particles from the sun slam into the planet's upper atmosphere, exciting neutral particles and causing them to glow.*
Auroras can also be seen from the ground, but people in
Space have a particularly amazing view of the **rthern and southern lights looking down from above.*
