Obama's new
solar plan could help renters, low-income families get
clean energy

Going
solar in the U.S. isn’t easy if you don’t have a house or a padded bank account.*
But renters and cash-strapped residents are increasingly taking advantage of the U.S.
solar energy boom, thanks to a push from communities, startups and policymakers to widen access beyond relatively wealthy homeowners.
The Obama administration is adding to those efforts with a handful of measures,
unveiled this week, designed to
help more U.S. households invest in local
solar installations and
energy efficiency projects.*
