Pro
skier Matilda Rapaport dies during a
video game promo shoot

Swedish
skier Matilda Rapaport died after an avalanche occurred
during a film
shoot in Chile for the Ubisoft-published extreme sports game,
Steep.
Rapaport was 30 years old.
The avalanche occurred on July 14, and although
Rapaport was rescued, the injuries sustained left her in a comatose state. Doctors fought to save her in the days that followed, but were unsuccessful. The
skier was pro**unced dead on July 18.
Rapaport competed on the professional freeskiing circuit. The discipline focuses on trick skiing — think s**wboarding, but on skis — typically within the confines of a specially designed terrain park.
