Tension still runs high in France's southern town of
Nice after an attack in which 84 people were killed.*
Thousands of people on Monday crowded the waterfront promenade where Mohamed Lahouiaej Bouhlel rammed a truck into the crowd during the Bastille Day celebrations.*

After a
minute's silence for the victims, the crowd sang the
French national anthem and held their fists in the air.
As
prime minister Manuel Valls laid a wreath for the victims, he was
booed and jeered in criticism for France's security measures. Families of the dead and the injured, who had gathered on the Promenade des Anglais, shouted "Resign" as the ceremony came to an end.*
