Twigs cover: 'Face. Palm.'
A week after
ELLE released the cover for the
magazine's August 2016 cover, editor-at-large
Melissa Harris-Perry penned a letter asking readers for their thoughts.*
"What do you see when you look at our August cover?" she
wrote.*
At first glance, almost everyone will see the same thing: a
cover featuring FKA Twigs. But if you look closely, near the singer's head, there is a smaller headline that reads, "Becky Who? It's Going to Be You With the Good Hair?
"
"Face. Palm," Perry wrote, before explaining why the headline was an issue of race and privilege.*
