LAHORE: The Chief Justice of the Lahore High Court, Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, has said that incompetent and
Corrupt judicial officials will **t be tolerated in the judiciary.
The CJ stated this while addressing a ceremony of the Punjab Bar Council held at the Punjab Judiciary Academy here on Tuesday.The chief justice said that they wanted to establish a just
judicial system which was **t possible without the support of lawyers. However, the CJ urged the lawyers to focus on self-accountability.
On the occasion, senior judges of the LHC, including Justice Shahid Hameed Dar, Justice Yawar Ali and Justice Sardar Muhammad Shamim Khan, also graced the occasion. LHC Registrar Khursheed Anwar Rizvi, DG Punjab
judicial Academy Uzma Chughtai and other
officials were also present there.
The CJ said that
Corrupt and ineligible
judicial officials would **t be tolerated in the lower judiciary as strict action would be taken against them within a seven-day period if any complaint was received against them. He said they would lose their place if they did **t focus on self-accountability.
The CJ said a high-level committee had been established which would resolve the problems of the lower judiciary. The committee would work for the development of courts and bars across the province. Cameras were being installed in courtrooms and negative approach of
judicial officials was being monitored, he said. He said that a full court would be held within the next two days to decide the fate of new benches.The CJ hoped that lawyers would respect the decision of the full court on the new benches.
