ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan can**t
take any
action against ‘Move on Pakistan’ a registered political party with ECP
against its unconstitutional campaign of imposing Martial Law, as the election body is incomplete, a source in the ECP informed The News.
Similarly, in the presence of an
Incomplete ECP, by-poll to any federal, provincial or local seat that the electoral commission would organize would be open to serious questions as it precisely happened in 2011 when the Supreme Court had suspended due to this very lacuna 28 federal and provincial lawmakers, who had returned in the by-elections.
A well-placed source in ECP informed The News that ECP is unable to
take any
action against Move on Pakistan a political party registered with the Election Commission of Pakistan as all of its four members have retired. The ECP can**t
take key decisions regarding any by-polls to any federal, provincial or local seats until its body is complete as per constitution.
