when NASA's
Ju** probe reached the planet Jupiter in tact Monday, it was the culmination of a risky five year journey.
The probe, which is the first to orbit
Jupiter since the Galileo mission ended in 2003, completed a*35-minute rocket engine burn to make it through the huge planet's radiation belts. It was nail-biting time for NASA's scientists and engineers, who cheered and hugged as they received confirmation it had survived the trip.
If it had been the
Mashable ******, there might have been a little more shrieking, crying and jumping up and down. But then again, these men and women of
NASA are seasoned professionals.
