“We have those in the show,” the Feld Entertainment EVP tells me as she arrives at my ****** for a chat on the circus' biggest show changes in decades, explaining that
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey
circus took the original Segway, which is much larger, stripped it down and retrofitted it so the performers could use their knees to steer, which happens to be exactly how the new Segway works.
Like the Segway,
Ringling Bros. circus has undergone a similar transformation, stripped down beyond its three-ring entertainment roots to the essence of what it means to be a traveling
circus and then rebuilt into something fresh and modern for the digital age.
