J.K. Rowling has revealed a detailed origin story for Ilvermorny, the
American school of magic that stands atop Mount Greylock in Massachusetts
On Pottermore, she's shared a lengthy tale of how the
school came to be, and it's all because of an Irish girl named Isolt Sayre, born around 1603.

There's also a new featurette that gives fans a quick rundown of the school's wild past and origin, and how it all began with "a unique, stolen wand."*
