ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has asked all ministries, divisions and government organisations for immediate measures for the use of
Urdu as
official language as it was a constitutional requirement.
Talking to adviser on national history and literary heritage, Irfan Siddiqui, who called on him Friday at the PM House, the prime minister said all government departments need to focus on the 10 points already given in this regard.
He also asked that a report be submitted to him to show the progress made for use of
Urdu as the
official language.The premier also called for publishing books on famous personalities of Pakistan to apprise the young generation of their contributions for the country.He also asked that a comprehensive package be worked out for the patronage and welfare of poets, writers and intellectuals.
