ISLAMABAD: Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the
federal government was pushing the tribal people towards terrorism by depriving them of education and other basic facilities.
He was addressing the members of the All
Fata Teachers Association staging a sit-in in front of National Press Club Islamabad for the last over two weeks to press for their demands including up-gradation.
Sirajul Haq said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had upgraded thousands of teachers whereas the
federal government had **t up-graded teachers in
Fata who were only during the last five years despite repeated promises.
He said about 1.2 million
Fata students were being affected because of teachers’ protest but the
federal government was yet to remove their grievances. He said that lakhs of IDPs were living in camps away from their homes and the government seemed to have ** timeframe for their return.
The JI chief said that the people’s representatives from
Fata had given some proposals regarding the CPEC but the
federal government had **t given any response so far. Sirajul Haq said the
Fata people wanted an administrative system that was in line with their traditions and the Shariah. He said the government had promised administrative reforms in
Fata including abolition of the FCR but **ne of these promises had been fulfilled.
