KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Tuesday extended the period of stay of the paramilitary Rangers force in the city for a**ther 77 days.
The period of
stay was extended under Article 147 with the signature of the chief minister. A summary in this regard was however sent three days ago, sources told Geo News.
The Rangers' period of
stay was extended as it was set to expire at midnight on May 3. The home department of
Sindh government is **w expected to write a letter to the centre seeking an extension in the
stay of Rangers.
The provincial government has been approving extension in the special powers of
Rangers under Section-4 of the Anti Terrorism Act 1997 for the last two years.
