Astro**mers map the
weather on an
alien 'super-Earth' planet for the
first time

For the
first time,
Astro**mers have mapped the
weather on an
alien planet slightly larger than Earth.
The super-Earth — which is a classification used for any
planet with a mass 1 to 10 times greater than that of our home
planet — is named 55 Cancri e and located about 40 light-years away from our solar system.*
A
new study published in the journal
Nature on Wednesday
*details the temperature map of the world, and even
*suggests that the exoplanet, which was
first discovered a few years ago, may have lava flows on its surface.*
