Hangout with Peter Chai, MD:
Google Glass for
Teletoxicology Consults

While many think
Google Glass is dead because it didn’t quite prove itself to consumers, it still has great potential for use by professionals in healthcare, among other fields. We
recently covered how it has been used at the University of Massachusetts Medical School to help specialized clinicians provide bedside toxicology
Consults to remote poisoned patients. This research has generated considerable interest, so we’d like to invite you to join us for a
Google Hangout with*Peter
Chai, MD, one of the lead authors of the study, and John Springer, an OR tech that has been extensively working
with Google Glass. The
Hangout will be hosted tomorrow,*Wednesday, Sept 9 at 9 pm EST, by Dr. John Bennett and
will appear at this link. You’ll be able to participate via voice and video, as well as using an embedded Twitter discussion board.
We’re looking forward to your questions about this specific research and broadly about how
Google Glass and other similar tech**logies will help to provide better care to our patients.* We also hope to have this turn into a discussion and plan on hosting many more hangouts that will offer opportunities to connect
with leaders in the medical tech**logy field.
