Violence erupted after morning prayers, as demonstrators protested against Jews visiting the holy site for the week-long holiday of Sukkot. Israeli police swarmed the area, using stun grenades to disperse Palestinians and locking others inside the mosque to avoid a potential riot, according to reports .
