In the letter sent to Ed and Paula Kassig, their son describes his fear of death, his faith and commitment to prayer, and his love for his family. Kassig, a medical aid worker and former U.S. Army ranger, was seen in a video released by ISIS on Friday, purporting to show the beheading of British captive Alan Henning. According to the Kassig family, they received the letter on June 2, 2014. It is believed that Kassig has been held by militants since Oct. 1, 2013, after he went missing near Raqqa in eastern Syria.
