The information ministry said in a statement that the licences of the two media outlets had been revoked "for losing some of the terms and conditions for obtaining a licence". "We received a letter from the information ministry stating that the licence of the channel has been revoked and we must stop immediately," a source at the station told AFP, requesting a**nymity. The decision comes a day after the government revoked the citizenship of the owner of the outlets, Ahmad Jabr al-Shemmari, in what appears to be one of the strongest *****downs on dissent in the country in recent years.
