Comedian John Bishop announces a sixth gig at the ECHO arena
 

</p>COMEDIAN John Bishopâ??s stratospheric rise continued today with the announcement of a sixth date at the ECHO arena.

The 43-year-old will now play on December 22 after a fifth show, added to his tour last week, all-but sold out within hours of going on sale on Saturday.

It means the Liverpool-born, Runcorn raised funnyman is now performing his new Sunshine Tour show at the arena on consecutive nights from December 17-22 and to a potential 60,000 people.

Bishop went on Twitter last night to describe it as a â??crazy weekend for ticket salesâ?*.

Today he told the ECHO: â??Iâ??m overjoyed with the response and Iâ??m looking forward to finishing 2010 in Liverpool before rolling the tour into 2011.â?*

The comedian last played the arena in May at the end of his Elvis Has Left the Building Tour which had first been tried out last year at the cityâ??s Unity theatre.

He has also recently completed his Saturday night series John Bishopâ??s Britain for BBC1.

This autumn the dad-of-three also returns as a panellist in A League of their Own on Sky One, will appear on Michael McIntyreâ??s Comedy Road Show and Live at The Apollo.
