Hayley Mills in Liverpool for Moving On visit
</p>SUPERSTARS rarely live up to their billing when theyâ??re not in the spotlight. Less still legends. But Oscar winner and acting royalty Hayley Mills certainly didnâ??t disappoint when she visited the city to star in an episode of the acclaimed BBC drama series Moving On, penned by Liverpool writer Shaun Duggan. Insider hears she not only delivered the meeting of a lifetime for film fan Shaun, but his mum Maureen too! â??My mum idolised Hayley Mills â?? so much so she wanted to name my sister after her â?? and Whistle Down The Wind is probably my favourite film of all time,â?* says the Aigburth-based writer. Not surprisingly, Shaun was thrilled when he was told that Hayley had been cast in his episode, as a woman in her late 60s who finds love while hiding a big secret. He admits, though, that he thought a quick introduction at the read through would be the nearest heâ??d get to the screen icon. â??As a writer, once the script is finished, your work is done. But I knew how much my mum would love to meet her, so I asked the script editor if we could go and watch a bit of filming and we went along to see her shooting wedding day scenes in Hamilton Square. â??We were just pleased to get a glimpse of her, especially filming something Iâ??d written, but then a runner came up to my mum and said â??Hayley Mills would like to meet you.â?? I think Colin McKeown or Jimmy McGovern must have told her we were there. â??We were taken to her Winnebago and she was just so nice, we were all taking photos and she was taking some of us on her iPhone.â?* Days later, they got another call inviting them to the wrap party at the Bridewell and this time Shaun and Maureen spent the evening having a drink and chatting with Hayley. â??She was saying how much sheâ??d enjoyed playing the role and loved her time in Liverpool and she was so genuine,â?* he says. In fact, the trio got on so well, Shaun couldnâ??t resist leaving Hayley with a parting gift. â??I bought her some daft little things to remind her of being here, so now I like to think of her doing her washing up with a Ferry Cross The Mersey tea towel!â?* Kimâ??s not that Sensitive Source link أكثر... |
