Liverpool programmes given credit as BBC reveals their best Northern shows
 

</p>Liverpool actors and programmes have been commemorated in a new video from the BBC which has celebrated northern talent.

The BBC have been giving credit to northern shows ahead of tonightâ??s premiere of their new northern-based drama, Ordinary Lies.

The video created by BBC lasts for just over a minute, and features Liverpoolâ??s famous actors David Morrissey when he starred in Blackpool, and Ricky Tomlinson in his iconic role in The Royle Family.

The clip also showed scenes from the Liverpool-based hit 1980s sitcom Bread, before switching to Boys from the Blackstuff, which was also filmed in the city and written by Scouser Alan Bleasdale.

Comedy series Two Pints of Lager and a Packet Of Crisps which followed the lives of five lovable characters in Runcorn.

Ordinary Lies will air on BBC One tonight, with teen Liverpool actress Lauren McQueen hitting our screens alongside Jason Manford and Michelle Keegan.

Other northern programmes that were given recognition in the BBCâ??s clip were In The Club, The Dumping Ground, The Village, Last Tango in Halifax, Our Friends in the North, Accused, Remember Me, Clocking Off, Life on Mars, Happy Valley, From There to Here, Car Share, the Syndicate, Dinnerladies, Inspector George Gently, Byker Grove, Last of the Summer Wine, and Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads?
