Venom 2?s Tom Hardy reveals first look at Woody Harrelson?s villain
 

Tom Hardy’s Instagram is proving to be an excellent window into next year’s Venom 2.

Directed by Lord of the Rings legend Andy Serkis, the dark superhero sequel is currently in production and will see Hardy’s Eddie Brock face off against Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady.

The actor’s <a class="body-link" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/B8qXT3Sg3v2/" target="_blank" data-vars-ga-outbound-link="https://www.instagram.com/p/B8qXT3Sg3v2/" rel="noopener noreferrer">latest upload, posted today (February 17), features a side profile of Cletus dressed in some funky Hawaiian garb.

Hardy simply captioned it “Hello Cletus [fire emoji]”, although this image offers nothing of the monstrous ferocity we’ll be expecting in the finished movie.

However, it’s always a pleasure to see Harrelson onscreen and we can’t wait to see what he does with this character (who only showed up for a quick minute at the end of Venom)<em/>.

Rest assured, Eddie and Cletus’ battle won’t take shape in human form. Of course, they’re both infected by murderous alien symbiotes â?? Venom and Carnage.

Earlier this month, Serkis shared a small update on the movie while backstage at the BAFTAs.

He told Digital Spy and other media: “I really can’t talk too much about it â?? I know, boring â?? but we’re 40 days into the shoot and it’s really thrilling.

“We’ve got the magnificent Tom Hardy, who’s obviously at the centre of it, and we sort of see a deepening of the relationship between him and obviously there’s a nemesis character and… that’s all I can say.”

Venom 2 is expected to reach cinemas in October 2020.
