Celebrity chef Simon Rimmer hosts Great Woolton Bake Off to celebrate his pub?s first
</p> TV chef Simon Rimmer is about to become the second Scouse Bake Off host … launching his own Great Woolton Bake Off competition to celebrate his Liverpool pubâ??s first birthday. Wirral-born Simon will be taking on judging duties at the contest on Saturday August 1 at the Elephantâ??s summer garden fete from 1pm-7pm. He opened the pub and bakehouse, and adjoining Liberty Tavern, in Woolton Village 12 months ago after a major refurbishment and heâ??s decided to mark the milestone with the venueâ??s biggest party to date. Simon has lined up lots of fun activities for all ages from traditional coconut shys and big top tombola, to performances by great Liverpool musicians such as Katy Bryson, Alex Evans and the Merseybelles and a balloon race in aid of Alder Hey Childrenâ??s hospital. Heâ??ll be putting on a big summer BBQ as well as lots of drinks samplings from Liverpool Gin, Mad Hatter Aleâ??s, Caledonian beer and Boutinot wines.
