First look at Margot Robbie?s Harley Quinn in The Suicide Squad
 

Harley Quinn may now be fantabulously emancipated from Mr J, but Margot Robbie’s Gotham City anti-hero has been spotted back with the Suicide Squad.

Following the release of Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) â?? or Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey, as it’s now known â?? Margot has been pictured as Harley once more, this time on the set of The Suicide Squad.

And fortunately for fans, it appears James Gunn’s take on the Suicide Squad’s look has evolved dramatically from what we saw in the original movie.

Although Harley’s not looking quite as playful or techni-colour as she did in the Birds of Prey era, she is rocking a Queen of Hearts style that we’re very much on board with.

Speaking of outfits, Suicide Squad‘s sequel-slash-reboot will be going back to basics on the costume front, with director James Gunn promising that there’ll be no CGI-generated suits.

Responding to fans’ questions about whether the squad’s suits will be digitally-designed, Gunn said they will be real and “all practical”, whatever that means.

Set to join Margot Robbie in their ‘real’ costumes for The Suicide Squad are Jai Courtney, Joel Kinnaman, and Viola Davis, who are all returning as Captain Boomerang, Rick Flag, and Amanda Waller respectively.

John Cena, Idris Elba, Taika Waititi, Nathan Fillion, Alice Braga, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, and even Peter Capaldi are all on board, too. What a treat.

The Suicide Squad is out in cinemas on August 6, 2021. Meanwhile, Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) is out now.
