Stranger Things Star Gaten Matarazzo Undergoes ?Big? Operation
Stranger Things actor Gaten Matarazzo has given the thumbs up after undergoing a successful operation to treat his rare bone condition. The 17-year-old posted a photograph of himself just after the surgery had been completed, to show fans that he was doing just fine. Sharing the snap to his Instagram account, the child star revealed that it may be the final operation he will need. The picture was shared with the caption: “Though my expression in this picture may not show it, the surgery was a complete success. This was such a big one, it may be the last one I need. Hopefully at least. “Those who suffer from Cleidocranial Dysplasia usually have Supernumerary teeth, which are extra teeth that grow in the gums. I’ve had several surgeries to extract these teeth from within my gums and help expose the teeth that should have already grown in considering my age. https://hameed.nwar.uk/vb/w101/wp-co...width=648.jpegCredit: Instagram“In this surgery, the team of amazing medical professionals extracted 14 supernumerary teeth and exposed six of my adult teeth. I was under for four hours. “My recovery for the past few days has been great and I can’t thank the team that did the surgery enough. Thank you all for your kind wishes and prayers. It means a lot. You’re Superman.” While another added: “I’m so happy it went well! Sending you well wishes and a speedy recovery, Gaten.” https://hameed.nwar.uk/vb/w101/wp-co...width=648.jpegCredit: InstagramGaten’s condition affects the formation of the skull, and can cause a person to have more teeth than the usual number. He has spoken about it before, opening up to Jonathan Ross during an interview back in 2016. He said: “I just want to raise awareness for it. And let people know that it’s not something that you should be afraid of showing.” Speaking to Radio 5 Live, Gaten admitted that his condition had stopped him from getting jobs in the past. “‘It was always because of my lisp,” he said. “And me being shorter and having the teeth issue, that was always the reason they couldn’t cast me. “They couldn’t write in a disability into the show because they had already written the script.” Source link </p> أكثر... |
