Downton Abbey movie: creator Julian Fellowes reveals it may happen
 

</p> Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes has teased a big screen version could be in the works.

The man behind the show reignited rumours of a potential spin-off, saying he would definitely be “up for” a film.

Speaking to press at the National Television Awards , he said: “I’m completely up for a movie. I’d love to do a movie.

“It would be very good fun.

“There’s all sorts of things that have to be settled – not least of which is the decision of when we’d make it. I’m up for it!”

The hit ITV period drama, which starred Warrington -born Sue Johnston , ended at Christmas after six series.

But it went out on a high as it scooped the best Drama prize at Wednesday’s ceremony in London.

Hugh Bonneville, who played Robert Crawley, said: â??This is a very special night for us it is the last possible night we could have won, I want to say thank you to Julian Fellowes for giving us great lines to say and wonderful characters.â?*

Julian said: â??You know I love happy endings and this is a very happy ending.”

Speaking afterwards to media he said there was a â??64-and-a-half percentâ?* chance the movie was likely to happen.
