Fawad calls for CII restructuring
By News report
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry Thursday emphasised on restructuring of Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) in line with modern requirements. In his message on Twitter, Fawad Chaudhry criticised the CII’s decisions and said there were serious questions on the performance of this institution. He said till date, the religious sections have not received any guidance from this council. “It is beyond my understanding to spend crores of rupees on such an institution. The council needs to be restructured and more scholarly people should handle this institution”, the minister stated. Meanwhile, former JUI-F senator Hafiz Hamdullah on Thursday taunted Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry by saying that the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has religious scholars and legal experts as members but the only person it lacks is Hareem Shah, Geo News reported on Thursday.Hamdullah was reacting to Chaudhry’s criticism of the CII’s declaration earlier that certain NAB ordinance clauses were ‘in violation of Islamic laws’. The ex-senator said religious scholars and legal experts were members of the body. He sarcastically commented that the only thing that the council lacked was Tik Tok star Hareem Shah. He said it was unfortunate that a federal minister was disrespecting a national institution such as the CII. Hamdullah wondered whether it was a feature of the ‘State of Medina’ for a federal minister to question the religious body’s performance. http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/com/cwEr/~4/ORWiCRWWGfc أكثر... |
