Loving the Missing Link take place during the 1970's as young Cheryl struggles to find her place in the world beyond her small Missouri hometown. Aggravated by her perceptions of her mother's intense ambition to make her a famous musician, Cheryl rebels by embracing mediocrity and escaping into the arms of her boyfriend Jerry. The next years become a journey into self understanding and a reawakening and broadening of her interest in the arts.
